My first reaction upon seeing this Tosin dress by Ofuure, was pure joy. The cut of the dress would very well adorn any lady's figure, and I love how vibrant the print is. I knew right away that I had to style for my Valentine's Day post this year.
As you may or may not already know, I am obsessed with all things Victorian and how well Victorian style balances femininty and drama, and so never has a concept materialized so quickly in my mind. I loved the juxtaposition of having this dress made out of ankara material, shot against a Victorian home while preserving the color palette and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect location. I also became certain that April Staso would be the perfect photographer to illustrate my vision precisely. Everything her lens captures takes on an element of play and story, all while maintaining natural beauty and the essence of the pieces being shot. I literally spent hours deciding on which pictures to go with, they were all amazing!
I coupled my adoration for the pattern on this dress with similar accessories to extract that playful, feminine, cheerful, and lighthearted vibe I got from it. However, I probably won't have as many roses in my hair if I was going on a date in this dress, but hey if that's your style, do you, boo! :D
Growing up, I was raised to view Valentine's Day as a celebration of love in itself, and the different forms of it, which in my opinion is a great perspective to have during this season. So whether you have a date night planned this year, or you're celebrating Galentine's Day with your girlfriends, or plan on spending the day watching Netflix, please remember that there's more to this season. You can celebrate your love for family, friends, or anyone who has been a rainbow in your cloud. If you don't have a "bae" at the moment, it really is not the end of the world. Try to make someone else's day, buy a homeless person a bouquet of flowers, send a love note to your loved ones, write a love letter to yourself and spread love everywhere you go. <3
Many many thanks to the owners of this beautiful Victorian home located in Skagit Valley, for allowing us capture these pictures in front of it. If you'd like to go on a weekend getaway and spend the night here (it's only an hour away from Seattle!), be sure to check out their AirBnb here!
As always, thank you so much for reading, I really do appreciate all your support. Andddd, have a happy Valentine's Day!
