ACT II Most of us can agree that shopping for Holiday gifts can be pretty stressful, especially when dealing with the last minute frenzy of Christmas shopping but still feeling the need to spoil loved ones with gifts. So, as part of Blogmas, I thought I'd put together a list of things I think will make for great gift items for her - whether it be your mom, sister, friend or lover. Let's get started!
For the Lady Who Enjoys Reading/Books

For the longest time I was against e-books and feared printed books going extinct, but I've come to embrace them and audio ones as well(thanks Audible!). If she'd rather do away with the weight of carrying books around, or having to manually highlight, a kindle would make for the perfect gift. It has high readability in any environment especially in bright sunlight without any glare. The size and weight also makes it easy to carry around. Another good feature I think most e-books in general have is being able to look up the meaning of words, and conveniently highlight, bookmark and share! Here's a link to a kindle I got earlier this year, and so far I'm loving it! I particularly enjoy reading self-help books on it, that's usually when I do most of my highlighting.
If she's into fashion and style, and is overall seeking to get some inspiration, I recommend looking into the street style collection of books! Earlier this year I got Paris Street Style and recently a loved one got me the Brooklyn Street Style book (as seen in photos) for an early birthday present which I'm just getting into. I love love these books! The photography is amazing, and you get to learn about different cities, the inspiration behind their style and also bookmark possible cities to travel to. Grace, a memoir by Grace Coddington (creative director of American vogue) is another book I'm currently eyeing.
If she's into cooking, and is looking to explore different cuisines and recipes, check out Anthropologie's cookbooks. They have an interesting number of books that make for substantial gifts, with lovely food photography! I'm particularly interested in Near and Far, which has a list of vegetarian recipes from around the globe. It's very well written and the photography and editing are so neatly done. I've also heard a lot of good things about Nourish, which includes recipes as well as inspiration and exercise content.
Sometime last year, my mom got me the sweetest book - She, which is written to describe the amazing women in our lives and when gifted, sort of reminds them of how much beauty and strength they possess. I think it'll make for a lovely side gift.
And of course, if you know her favorite genre of books or her favorite author, or one she's been dying to read, you could simply just walk into Barnes and Noble or a local bookstore and pick it up. Remember to read reviews online if you're not sure which to go with.

Headphones!!! Especially if it's noise cancelling. They can be a little pricey, but if you're willing to go on a splurge and you know she'd appreciate it, then I say you go for it! Check out this list of headphones for suggestions on the top ones to get. I have a friend who owns the Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphones by Bose, and they're pretty good! I'm not a huge fan of over-the-ear headphones to be honest, but thankfully Bose has both options.
Another good idea is getting a vinyl record player, especially if she's into vintage pieces. Crosley has an amazing collection of turntables that are of great quality as well. I've had one for about two years now and it's still in perfect condition. If she already owns a record player, you could get her vinyl albums of her favorite artists. Urban Outfitters and Barnes and Noble have a few of them.
For the Lady Who Loves to Pamper
This is my type of lady!
A gift card to a spa day is shooting for the stars, but hey, if you want to go for it, why not! Most spas have basic packages that come with a massage, a facial, a pedicure and a manicure. She'd love this, especially if she's a hard-worker.
Another great alternative is buying her aromatherapy shower gels and oils she could use at home, which aid with relaxation, relieving stress and are typically extracted from flowers, seeds, leaves, root and fruits. I'd go with one of these - Lavender, Eucalyptus, Ginger, Peppermint or Tea tree, as they are pretty popular and are known to be quite therapeutic, but at the moment I'm loving ginger and peppermint, perhaps it's something to do with the season. I recently found out about Aromatherapy Associates, and they have really good bath and shower oils. Oils are the best for rejuvenating bubble baths, alongside a good bath salt, a glass of wine on the side, and Frank Sinatra playing, mmm..(okay now I'm day dreaming, but I think you get the gist). I love this Eucalyptus Spearmint bath soak by Bath and Body Works and it's pretty affordable too (win!)
Another option is to get her candles of scents she'd love. I'm obsessed with candles, I don't think I could go a day without lighting them up which means I run out candles quicker than most. Any fellow candle lover understands this "struggle" and I bet would appreciate getting a candle for Christmas. I'm currently loving Voluspa Cut Glass Jar. It has such a pretty smell that is not overwhelming and the etched glass would make for a lovely vase or decorative piece once the wax is all gone. Check out more of their candles here. I'd recommend smelling the candle first before buying, you can't really rely on reviews with these things, you've got to love it. Most spas carry Voluspa, and other amazing candles! There's also Yankee candles, Bath and Body Works, The Body Shop, Origins and so forth. So please, do not feel limited.

You can't really go wrong with the right shade of lipstick(s). If you're unsure of what color to get, do some investigation to figure out what she's into - you've got to be smart about these things, lol. You could ask a close friend of hers or relatives, what color she usually goes for (if you haven't already noticed) or try casually complimenting her lipstick color when next you see her, and then ask where she got it from (try not to be too obvious lol), OR look at her pictures on social media and see what color of lipstick she has on when she's all dolled up! In any case, once you have that part down, check out these collections by Yves Saint Laurent (which is currently a big hit), Lancome's L'Absolu Rouge, Chanel's Rouge Allure, NARS' VIP Red, and Estee Lauder's Pure Color Envy Matte. I also love MAC Lipsticks, they're long lasting and well pigmented.
Makeup brushes (only if she needs them) are also a good idea! Sigma Beauty has a great deal for a Basic Face Kit and their quality is pretty good for the price they're offering. If she tends to travel a lot, a brush roll would be another thoughtful gift, so she could nicely store her brushes. A lot of places have pretty good ones, I'd check out Sephora, MAC, Vera Bradley...even Walmart has a few!
For the Lady Who Loves Accessories
For accessories, it's always good to keep it simple focusing on items she'd love, or one she's been considering getting. A few items I would recommend are:
Sunglasses. Buying sunglasses are very tricky because you want to make sure you get the right frames and style. If you don't know exactly what pair she's been lusting over, getting a Sunglass Hut gift card is a safer idea. I'd suggest taking a look at the price range to get a better sense of how much to put on it (their sunglasses ain't cheap!)
Jewelry: I'm a sucker for customized jewelry, especially necklaces and Things Remembered is my go to at the moment. I personally think jewelry is weighted with meaning, especially when it's linked to a person, or memory or story. It's a nice thoughtful way to give her a piece that would make her smile or warm her heart every time she wears it (cue the "AWWWWs").
Wallets/Card holders: This is an item that a lot of people both guys and girls talk about wanting but never actually get. I have this same problem! We use our wallets until they're literally begging us to let go. If you're interested in getting one of these, I'd take a look at Aldo, Asos and Vera Bradley, I love their collections! If you're looking for something more luxurious, I'm currently in-love with this Chanel card holder - it's the cutest thing and has some pretty good reviews!

My sister is the fastest sunset chaser I know, and takes some pretty sick photos of them! Check out her photography here. And so for Christmas last year, we got her this Polaroid Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Instant Camera which is super cute and a lot of fun for taking instant film pictures. I find that because it's not digital, it allows you put more thought into getting that perfect shot, and the quality of the pictures are up to par. The size and weight makes it really easy to carry around or travel with. Plus, it's relatively cheap! Especially if you're not looking to splurge on a DSLR or a killer lens.
Clip on camera phone lens: This is a great item especially for a girl who's into blogging, or content creating in general. I've heard so many great reviews about this one, but can't give you my personal view on it since I don't actually own one. It's definitely on my wishlist though, I love that it's affordable, detachable and allows you transform standard flat phone photos into wide and up-close quality ones. Sounds like another win to me!
Camera lens mug: This is perfect if she also enjoys drinking coffee or tea! I think this is such a clever idea, I love that the mug looks so realistic. Here's a link to a Nikon lens mug.
Lens Bracelets - This one made me LOL. But hey, what better way to show your love for photography, right? I love that it's not too conspicuous though, it would look good paired with other bracelets.
For the Lady Who Loves a Bit of Everything
If she's someone who loves little surprises, this is a great idea. It's almost like unraveling a premium chocolate box, and not knowing what next you're going to get. I for one love this idea, because you get to be creative in selecting gems you know she'd love, and it could be the most random things! Maybe a bacon toothpaste because she's a bacon lover and that would have her rolling, or a toilet bowl mug? (Make sure she has the right sense of humor for that one, LOL).
In any case, here are items I think would make for a good collection of gits:
- A pretty scarf
- A cute mug (again, check out Anthropologie's collection of mugs. They even have some with letters on them).
- A pretty journal or notebook. I actually love the ones at Barnes and Noble! Especially the ones with fabric covers. Some of them come with fancy pens attached to the side, which is great for someone who loves to jot down.
- A gift card to her favorite store.
- If she's into fitness, a nice yoga mat, water bottle or a cute tote bag she could hold her workout gear in, are all good ideas! PS how cool is this water bottle? Yes, please!
- Feel free to add items already listed. For example, adding lipstick to this surprise box won't hurt.
Of course there are tons of other things you could buy, but these few are just my personal suggestions and are listed to inspire you as you shop this holiday season. I am by no means saying this is what you must get for her, because at the end of the day, what is most important is that she loves it, considers it thoughtful and feels appreciated by the gift. Thank you for stopping by today, and I hope I have managed to be helpful in some little way!
